The Clochfaen

We at The Clochfaen are offering a warm and friendly welcome to all visitors from across the world to our unique Arts and Crafts Bed and Breakfast and our Distinct Self Catering & Holiday Cottages in Llangurig, Near Llanidloes, Mid Wales. We have the facilities to offer these two types of guest accommodation, separately or in a combination deal, for both SHORT & LONG BREAKS! Our B&B accommodation can cater up to 8 people and in our two self catering Holiday Cottages, there’s room for 5 + 4 people.

The estate is based within 20 acres of private woodland. This picturesque area of the Wye Valley in Llangurig offers superb opportunities for fishing, and excellent walking and cycling tours. We are even just a stones throw away from the quaint Market Town of Llanidloes! For all the bikers out there, we make the perfect stop whilst you take in the breathtaking views and sample want the local area has to offer.

As soon as you walk through are doors, you will note the building’s architectural style and some of its original features like beamed ceilings and period decoration. There’s a real warming and comfortable atmosphere here. Rooms in our main building are reasonably sized with an elegant, historic feel to them. Guests are welcome to relax in most rooms – picture yourself seating in front of the open fire in our library or relaxing in the drawing room watching sky TV or eating a delicious dinner in the dining room.

Aubrey’s Bed and Breakfast is an annex, located on the ground floor within the main Grade II listed property, which was formally the servants quarters. This self contained building consists of a sitting room, a morning room, a reception, four bedrooms – including two double rooms, a twin room, and a bunk room, plus two bathrooms. There’s off road parking available for cars and motorcycles, and there’s also secure storage available for bicycles too. All rooms are tastefully decorated and each have central heating, security safes, radio alarms, and have Freeview and WiFi connection throughout.

Our holiday cottages comprise of two Grade II listed semi-detached cottages in an elevated yet secluded position 250 yards South West of The Clochfaen main house, in the grounds of the Estate. They have commanding views over the Wye valley, Llangurig and Voel Curig mountain. Each one has sky TV and DVD players, and are tastefully furnished and decorated. They have modern kitchens, modern bathrooms, and are heated by an “eco- friendly” wood pellet burning central heating system, which uses carbon neutral fuel. It will be nice and cosy no matter what time of year you visit.

We are situated in the upper reaches of the beautiful Wye Valley, overlooking the River Wye in the heart of Mid Wales. This particular area has outstanding natural beauty, and has some of the most stunning mountain views and breath taking scenery in the whole country!
